Floor Manager — The Vibe Captain

About the Role

We’re looking for a Floor Manager who can run a tight ship without killing the joy. You’ll be the heartbeat of service—keeping the energy high, the team aligned, the guests happy, and the dining room flowing like a perfectly timed playlist. If you love hospitality, thrive under pressure, and can lead with both warmth and standards, you’ll fit right in.

This role is ideal for someone who’s equal parts coach, conductor, and problem-solver—with a sharp eye for details and a strong sense of people.

What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day)

Run the Floor Like a Pro

  • Lead pre-shift: set the tone, communicate the plan, and get the team locked in
  • Manage pacing and flow: quotes, turns, seating, sections, and all the little levers that create a great night
  • Stay guest-facing: read the room, anticipate needs, and handle issues quickly and graciously
  • Ensure service standards: steps of service, check timing, table touches, hospitality moments

Support & Lead the Team

  • Coach servers, hosts, food runners, and bartenders in real time—kindly and clearly
  • Keep morale up and drama down (you’re calm, consistent, and fair)
  • Help train new team members and reinforce service fundamentals
  • Act as the point person for shift decisions, conflict resolution, and quick adjustments

Be the Bridge Between FOH + BOH

  • Communicate cleanly with the kitchen: pacing, 86s, allergy needs, and special situations
  • Support expo / pass as needed during peak service
  • Keep the whole operation moving as one team—no silos, no surprises

Own the Guest Experience

  • Handle guest recoveries and “make it right” moments with confidence
  • Build regulars through genuine connection
  • Make sure every guest leaves feeling taken care of (and excited to come back)

Keep the Room Sharp

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked dining room throughout service
  • Ensure stations are set, side work gets done, and closing is strong
  • Enforce safety, sanitation, and compliance standards

What Success Looks Like

  • Service feels smooth, even when it’s slammed
  • Guests feel seen, cared for, and impressed
  • Staff feels supported, guided, and proud of the shift
  • Communication stays clear, calm, and solutions-focused
  • The restaurant hits its standards: timing, cleanliness, hospitality, and consistency

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years managing or leading FOH in a high-volume or quality-driven restaurant
  • Strong instincts with pacing, guest recovery, and team leadership
  • Confident communicator who can be direct without being harsh
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
  • A true hospitality person: you enjoy people, you notice everything, and you take pride in the work
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with reservation/waitlist systems (Resy, Toast POS, etc.)
  • Strong wine/beer/cocktail knowledge
  • Experience in restaurants with high standards of food + service

The Perks

  • Work with a team that takes hospitality seriously—but doesn’t take itself too seriously
  • A place where standards matter, growth is real, and great energy is part of the job
  • Opportunity to level up leadership skills and be a key part of the restaurant’s success
  • Company sponsored healthcare
  • 2 weeks paid vacation
  • Performance bonus quarterly
